If your new Mac Book Pro runs on Sierra, there is no guarantee FCP-7 will run without issue. There are apps in the Final Cut Studio suite that do not work (such as Compressor) in the last several iterations of Mac operating systems.
If this is not an option, select Software Update from the Apple menu on your Mac. Install the Mac OS X update for 10.6.8 or later, the ProKit Update Version 7.0 and any updated versions of Final Cut Studio applications. Install Final Cut Pro 7. Your Mac will automatically transplant elements of Final Cut Pro 6 to a new location. Work at a faster clip. With its modern Metal engine, Final Cut Pro allows you to edit more complex.
Since Final Cut Studio was abandoned by Apple, you are really on your own to make it work.
You have a couple of methods to install FCP on your system:
1) On your old computer, use Disk Utility to make Disk Images of the install DVDs. Store those disk images on an external drive. Plug the external into your new computer, open the disk images and once they mount click on the first one and let it go. This is much faster than installing from DVD. Once installed, unless the version on your disc was 7.03, you'll need to find the update for FCP.
2) Get and external DVD drive - not sure if any currently support the connectors on the new Mac Book Pro but you may be able to find one.
Most of the people I know that are successfully still running FCP-7 do so on older hardware and keep that older hardware on the appropriate Operating System.
Your milage may vary.
