SA/GAW Col. George A. Woody

S/N 1,978,000-3,627,000 August 1943- March 1945
S. A. / G.A.W. (Springfield Armory / George A. Woody). Even though George A. Woody died in August 1944, his inspection stamps remained in the Stamp Racks until March of 1945. An overlap with the SA/NFR stamp. Other stamps used on the stocks were the circled 'P' proof mark (with serifs) on the pistol grip, and the Ordnance Wheel with Crossed Cannons. The wheel was .437' in diameter. A small .188' Ordnance Wheel was stamped on the bottom of the pistol grip.

On Jun-12-13 at 00:34:54 PDT, seller added the following information:

Link below is to a photobucket album of 31 pictures of the stock. It shows better the left side near the Bbl channel as I tried to show in the other pictures. only allows 12 pictures so it's hard to get every part. OK, wown't allow me to include a link. Just see there is a compression in picutre 9 to the left of the trigger guard. I can't add anymore pictures but know it's there. Rest of stock is very very good. 'ask me a question' and I'll email you the link if you need, but pics show a good representation of the item.
